16 days of activism against GBV ( Gender Based Violence ) is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day. This campaign is important as it raises awareness on violence against girls and women.
Young girls belong in schools and not in child marriages . Due to lack of knowledge , poverty , cultural practises and political reasons , 4% of girls are married before their 15 th birthday. I want a future where girls get the chance to be educated and grow to their fullest potential , by taking away their right of education and to grow , child marriages systematically disempowers them .It ensures that they depend on others most of their life and make them vulnerabe to abuse and other assualts to their physical and mental health. " We will not have equality until girls can grow up with control over their own bodies and futures " - Jaha Dukureh

"We succeeded when no one thought we would. we were the conscience of the ones who had lost their conscience in their quest for power and political positions'' - Leymah Gbowee . If you don’t stop erasing women and girls by pretending we aren’t unique from men with our own bodies and oppressions we will never see progress. What are you going to do that will make a difference ? How are you going to help?
